The 36-hour Mistress
A very fine morning when Adolf was walking down the streets of Munich to Heinrich Hoffman’s studio, Hitler’s glance stuck at the graceful model posing for Hoffman.“Oh that’s a pretty girl. Who is she?”, Adolf asked. “Fuehrer, she is a photographer and model of the Nazy Party, her name is Eva Braun.”
Adolf was in love with her pretty face, she should be my mistress he thought. Adolf confessed his love towards young Eva, who was twenty-three years younger to him. 17-year-old young Eva could not refuse Adolf’s love. She tried every possible way to grab his attention. She stuck in tissue paper rolls inside her blouse, wear a lot of lipstick, polished her nails in different colours and she even dared to touch scary Hitler’s moustache.
Adolf kept Eva as a secret, no one knew about their relationship. Eva said “ Fuehrer, I need to be with you, I am your mistress”, Adolf refused to keep her near him. She was given a small space in Adolf’s bunker. They slept separately as Adolf only prefers seeing her face when he wants to. Eva loved Adolf even when her family was against their relationship.
One fine evening, when Adolf was skimming through his documents, Eva sat beside him laid a soft touch on his arms and looked into his eyes, “It’s been 5 years, we will be getting married soon, aren’t we?”.
Hitler smiled, “ No Eva, I am not marrying you, you remain my love and the mistress of my house but I won’t marry you”. Eva was heartbroken, and attempted to suicide by shooting herself in the breast. But this didn’t shake Hitler.
After a series of cruel and massive killings of innocent Jews all throughout the years, in 1945 Soviets invaded Berlin. Hitler understood his reign was going to end and Germany shall never win.
April 29 1945
Adolf with his fiery eyes, walks out of his room, with Eva Braun on his side. Her beauty is flaunted with a beautiful black sequin dress, dragging it along the floor, her eyes had this immense radiance, she had tears in her eyes, even though she was smiling.
After 14 years of being together and Eva being hidden in Hitler’s bunker, they got married in a hastily arranged wedding. Eva had tears dropping all over the legal marriage papers, as she wrote ‘Eva Hitler’ instead of ‘Eva Braun’ for the very first time.
Hitler had a few glasses of champagne and looked at the clock. Hitler stood up, cleared his throat and started speaking at the small gathering, “after many years of true friendship [she] came … of her own free will, in order to share my fate. She will go to her death with me at her own wish as my wife,” he declared. Hitler never addressed Eva with her name.
“ It’s just 36 more hours, me and my mistress are going to take our lives, rather than facing defeat, surrender and shame. I urge you to burn our bodies. And I want all of my successors to fight bravely”.
Drinking another sip from his glass he declared “Centuries will pass away but … the hatred will ever renew itself against … International Jewry, they shall pay”.
Eva changes her wedding clothes, and wears Hitler’s favourite dress, a black dress with white roses. And sits quietly painting her nails.
In his final hours, Hitler got depressed thinking what if the poison(cyanide) doesn’t kill me, I would be humiliated in front of my allies. That would be the worst thing to happen. I should test this on someone, he thought. He fed poison to his best friend, his dog. And it was a success.
Eva waited for Hitler, sitting on the sofa she hugged Hitler for the one last time, and laid her head on his shoulder.
He wore his glorious Nazi uniform jacket and black trousers. They looked into each other’s eyes. They had been married for a day and a half. Eva couldn’t help but cry, she longed for being Hitler’s wife, but when she finally became one…everything is going to end. Hitler had his pistol. Eva had cyanide. Hitler held his gun straight on his forehead, and Eva took cyanide and rested on her husband’s shoulder. Hitler’s head exploded, and the blood that gushed out, decorated the white flowers on her dress. Their bodies were taken out and burnt.
